During the months following the earthquake which hit Haiti in January of this year, the ISH Community pulled together to raise funds for the Maltester Help Organisation. Click here for the report by the Malteser Help Organization about their use of the funds provided by groups from all over the world to help after the earthquake. The motor behind ISHelpsHaiti, Jutta Clarke, raised an amount close to 8000,- Euros which is used to provide basic medical care for approx. 75 000 people in the area of Leogane. One important aspect of their work is to secure support for a sustainable period while the country is working on reconstructing the infrastructure. Focus here is healthcare including maintaining hospitals.
