Dear parents/guardians,

I would like to address all of you about the environmental issue that the world is facing at the moment. ISH is making steps to being an environmentally-friendly school and of course we need your help to achieve this goal as soon as possible. One of the problems that we are working on at the moment is the traffic that occurs in front of the school building every morning and afternoon. It does not only make the drop-offs hectic and time consuming but also creates a bad environment on the school grounds by high carbon dioxide emissions. Some people may think that one car does not contribute all that much to the climate change but in reality every car matters. We would like to ask you to think about any of the options below as your own contribution to our aims.
Find out if any other parents that go by car live in your neighborhood, why not go in turns?
If you live not far away from the school – think about biking together with your kids (when the weather is suitable of course)
And also our school is thinking about organizing a bike routine that can be led by any volunteers that will bike by an established routine to pick up students. If anyone is interested in participating in this idea please contact the Global Issues Network at r.vanvliet@ishthehague.nl
