Dear Parents,
A Happy New Year to you all from all of us here at the school! 2010 will bring many new challenges to us, as it has surprised us already with the weather. After a first day of limited resources, we are now well equipped with salt and can keep our area safe. Please continue to be careful when driving to school, especially watching out for pedestrians and cyclists.
During the coming five months we will further develop and finalize the next School Strategic Plan, to cover the period up to 2014. Central themes for this document guiding our work will include: Individualization & Differentiation , Digitalization, Globalization, Sustainable Education, IB plus,
Professional Organization. These are headlines and need to be filled with more specific content of course, but we will have a vision statement for each – where would we like to be in 2014 regarding this field. All stakeholders will be involved in developing the plan and all parents are invited to join us for the next platform evening on 26 January at 19.00. We will start with evaluating the current School Philosophy and Mission statement before discussing the key themes as above. Please make every effort to be there, your input is much appreciated!
All Y11 parents have received a password and log-in code for student absences and the personal contact details we have on our database, with the possibility of updating these. Other year groups will be introduced on a monthly basis now.
Y7 parents will receive details for a pilot after school homework club on Monday. For a period of ten weeks, we can offer supervision and advice for up to 20 students from 15.45 to 17.15, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The costs for the period will be 100,- Euros. I regret that there is no option for certain days only. We hope to provide a long awaited service which we will extend to other years and more students if needed.
